SEED and CHEMISTRY UPDATE
2008 and 2009 PLANNING
7/1/08
We all recognize how difficult the 2008 planting season has been in a large portion of our geography. We finally are seeing acres get planted to something. While we can’t avoid the timing of this, we can do everything possible to take care of the growing crop everywhere. Ceres Solutions crop specialists along with our agronomists and seed specialist are ready to assist in helping make decisions to ensure yield potential.
As we look forward to 2009, business planning and strategy will be more important than ever before. We believe our AgVantage crops program allows producers the best chance of succeeding in the current agronomy environment. Intensive grid sampling, variable rate application of crop nutrients and lime, seed selection and placement, seed treatments and plant health applications, and herbicide/insecticide programs are all a part of this business partnership. The combination of the projected cost of crop nutrients, seed, and chemistry will make it imperative to find solutions that fit your operation to drive yield potential. Input costs for seed and chemistry are projected to be 10 to 20 percent higher for the coming year. Product availability and potential shortages could be a concern going forward. The grain prices are trading at all time high ranges. All of this points to the need for good planning and communication between the producer and retailer. Let Ceres Solutions show you what we can do together to cultivate results for your operation.
